Mercedes-Benz ECUs and TCUs Erased and Reprogrammed with X-Prog3

The Launch X431 software paired with the X-Prog3 tool provides efficient solutions for virginizing (erasing) and reprogramming used Mercedes-Benz ECUs and TCUs, making them reusable in other vehicles. The process involves resetting the control modules, followed by programming, coding, and personalization.

Key Highlights:

  1. Circuit Diagrams: The software includes detailed circuit diagrams, simplifying the process by providing easy and fast references during the procedure.
  2. ECU/TCU Reusability: Once reset, used Benz ECUs and TCUs can be installed in other vehicles. Afterward, they need to be programmed, coded, and personalized to the new vehicle.

Supported Models:

  • Launch X431 PAD V with X-Prog3: Supports virginizing a wide range of Benz ECUs, including CR3.xx, C4R4.xx, CR5.xx, CR6.xx, CR60.xx, CRD.11, CRD2.xx, CRD3.xx, MED2.8.1., and ME9.7 – Successfully tested.
  • Launch X431 IMMO Elite/IMMO Plus with X-Prog3: Supports virginizing ISM/DSM/ESM modules in Benz vehicles – Successfully tested.

Procedure Overview:

  1. Read and Save EEPROM Data: The software allows reading the EEPROM data from control modules in the vehicle. One device can begin the reading while another device is used to remove and read the module externally.
  2. Write New EEPROM Data: After reading and saving the EEPROM data, new data must be written into the EEPROM for the module to function properly in another vehicle. (New EEPROM data can be obtained from customer support.)
  3. Launch X431 X-Prog3 with PC Adapter: Supports virginizing Benz VGS3 with a PC adapter, using the same procedure as the X431 ECU programmer – Successfully tested.

Summary:

The Launch X431 system, with its X-Prog3 tool, simplifies the virginizing process for Mercedes-Benz ECU/TCU modules, allowing for reuse across different vehicles. The tool offers a reliable solution for auto technicians, providing the necessary support for reading, saving, and writing EEPROM data, along with the circuit diagrams for quick reference.
