How to Reset Mack and Volvo Engines from EPA 07 to GHG17 Using JPRO

The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) system reset is essential when components like the Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Doser (AHD) or Diesel Particulate Filter have been cleaned or replaced. This ensures the engine management system is aligned with the new or serviced parts.

1. Resetting the Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Doser (AHD) Adaptation Coefficients

After cleaning or replacing the AHD, it is necessary to reset the Hydrocarbon Metering Control Valve adaptation coefficients.

2. Resetting the Ash and Soot Content

If the Diesel Particulate Filter has been cleaned or replaced, the soot and ash content must also be reset.

Steps to Perform DPF System Reset:

Supported Engines:

  • Mack and Volvo engines from EPA 07 to GHG17.

Procedure:

  1. Select “Reset DPF System” from the available test options.
  2. A dialog box will appear. Choose either “Reset AHD Adaptation Factors” or “Reset Ash and Soot Levels” based on the component being serviced.
  3. Ensure all prerequisites are met, then click the “Reset” button to initiate the process.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions during the reset.
  5. Once the reset is successfully completed, a status message will appear.
  6. If needed, repeat the process for other reset options.
