Easydiag / Icarscan 24V to 12V adapter = HD Module for trucks? The Easydiag / Icarscan 12V to 24V HD adapter has been a while since it was released, it is advertised it would do HD modules’ job. There are two most frequently asked questions:
1.) It works both K-line and CAN Bus?
2.) Does it have the database for heavy duty trucks?
Answer and Suggestion:
1).The 12V to 24V heavy duty adapter has no component for kline. Only usable for diagnosis via CAN.
It only converts 24-12V, no protocols, so only CAN will work.
On trucks with CAN line is not so bad.
On trucks with K-line (old) none working.
Using Easydiag / Icarscan with USA 12v trucks obd2 no problem and don’t need a voltage converter, but when i try to use an obd2 to 9 pin adapter to read the older trucks (K-line) it will not connect.
2).It does not have a database for heavy duty.
Only buy original launch x431 24v truck adapters with separate software.
You can use HD or HD III for X431 V+, Pro3 or Smart Box for Pad V, SmartLink for PAD VII (PAD V, PAD VII need to purchase truck software in “Mall”)
