What’s BMW Rheingold ISTA
BMW Rheingold ISTA is a diagnostic program that has replaced ISTA-D in official BMW dealer services. It is designed to diagnose and code BMW models, providing comprehensive information about the vehicle’s performance and system status. While the program is primarily used in official dealer services, older versions of ISTA-D are still supported. However, once the new Rheingold version is fully developed, the old diagnostic program will no longer be supported.
For older BMW models from 1995 to 2009, there are alternative diagnostic programs available, such as BMW DIS dealer program and BMW INPA EdiaBas. These programs offer similar functionalities and are competent in diagnosing and coding older BMW models.
One of the main features of the new Rheingold version is its accelerated work during quick tests. This is made possible by the use of FASTA technology, which allows for a complete vehicle configuration to be determined without going through each individual block. Instead, the configuration data can be determined by simply inputting the VIN number. This significantly speeds up the testing process, as there is no longer a need to manually check each block for errors. Additionally, the algorithm for erasing errors has been improved, with the program now automatically turning off and on the ignition during the process.
In terms of system requirements, Rheingold has minimal requirements. It operates smoothly on Windows 7 or later, and the program itself consumes very little RAM. Rheingold was developed in MS Visual Studio, with a focus on minimizing the use of Java in order to enhance system performance. This is a significant improvement compared to the old version, which was developed solely in Java.
Rheingold is compatible with various diagnostic interfaces, including E-NET, ICOM D-CAN, Omitec USB, and OPS. Older versions of the program only supported ICOM interface.
With BMW Rheingold ISTA, users can access detailed information about their BMW vehicles. This includes precise oil temperature, remaining fuel level, engine operating time, CO2 emissions, and more. The program also offers service functions, allowing users to calibrate the transfer case, reset automatic transmission adaptations, open calipers for maintenance, and perform other maintenance tasks.
